I discovered my love for early‑childhood music education when my oldest daughter was 18 months old and we attended Kindermusik classes together. When her teacher moved away two years later, I became certified and taught Kindermusik for more than five years.
After a short break, I was introduced to Let’s Play Music when my youngest was three. The following year, I enrolled her in her first class at age four—and I immediately knew I had found the curriculum I truly wanted to teach. Let’s Play Music offered not only music and movement, but complete musicianship. It aligned perfectly with my passion for helping children learn, explore, and grow through music.
I am also thrilled to be teaching Sound Beginnings. Watching babies and toddlers absorb and respond to music is one of my greatest joys. I am certified in both Let’s Play Music and Sound Beginnings, and I couldn’t be happier doing what I love.
Questions & Answers
Where are you from?
I’m originally from American Fork, Utah. I moved to Cache Valley after high school to attend Utah State University. I lived in Logan for several years and have now been in North Logan for 15 years.
How many kids do you have?
I have four children: ages 23, 21, 15, and 12.
Why do you teach?
I love seeing the spark in a child’s eyes when they experience an “aha!” moment. Music creates those moments again and again. It’s a privilege to watch children grow in confidence and joy through musical learning.
How long have you been teaching?
I began teaching in 2008. Although I took a short break from Kindermusik, I continued teaching music to my own children. I have taught Let’s Play Music and Sound Beginnings since 2020.
Why did you switch from Kindermusik to Let’s Play Music?
When I discovered Let’s Play Music, I realized it offered a more complete musicianship curriculum—something I had always wanted to teach. Rather than compete with it, I chose to join it. I love that our classes build true musical understanding and skills, not just instrument play.

Do you play a musical instrument?
Yes—I play the oboe. In 7th grade, I chose it because hardly anyone else played it, and I liked being unique. I even learned to make my own reeds. I still enjoy picking it up from time to time.
What do you do for fun?
When I’m not teaching, I love going on family vacations. Some of my favorite destinations have been Orlando, Alaska, South Dakota, and Yellowstone.
